Are Pop-Ups Going Dinosaur Way? - Articles Surfing

Is it the end of the road for pop-ups?

So far you have seen how to attract the potential customers to your site. You must also learn to keep them interested and not turn them away after giving them useful information and quality products. Do you know that happens? Yes, when you use pop-ups, visitors are annoyed, distracted and will not take your offering seriously. Therefore get rid of any pop-ups on your site.

Yes, there was period in internet history when pop-ups were the "in thing". They have lost their popularity for some time now. Internet visitors are no longer enthused about pop-up ads. They think of them as unnecessary irritants to their otherwise pleasurable browsing.

Imagine watching your favorite thriller on the TV and a commercial pops up suddently. How do you feel? Your customer feels the same when you use pop-ups. Your visitors come to your site for quality information and any thing that stops them from getting it, even for a few seconds, is definitely a no no.

Yes, pop-ups were interesting once, no longer. Continuous use of spam filters and pop-up blockers made Internet users terribly annoyed. Now a days, no one wants to waste his /her quality time on looking at pop-ups. The users are more intelligent and go away to better sites that offer pure undistracting information. One sure way of losing a good prospective customer is to continue to employ pop-ups.

The content on your web site stays in the minds of your visitors longer than any gimmick like pop-ups. Suppose a salesperson comes to you for selling an item. He talks about every thing under the sun except his product. What is your reaction? Forget buying from him, would be interested in listening to him at all? The same logic applies to your web site as well. Be to the point, provide good quality information to keep your visitors interested in your website and your products.

Use high quality content and good products for making that lasting impression on your customers. Don't use fake logic, hyperbole and stuff like that. Remember that visitors are interested in genuine products and quality content. Period.

Don't try to advertise your way to success.

Let your pop-ups go the dinosaur way.
