Grapevine and Wine

The Texas wine industry really emerged in the early 1970's. Researchers and investors found that Texas has ideal soil and climate conditions for wine grape growing. The industry grew until the State became fifth largest wine producing state in the nation behind California, Washington, New York, and Oregon.

Many of the wineries are small producers who concentrate on tourism for the majority of their sales, several of the large wineries have developed state, national, and international markets for Texas wines. The industry has helped solidfy the area as a tourist attraction as well as a hub for business growth.

The Town was originally conceived as a retirement community, although most of the growth has come from new families.

Founded in 1973, Trophy Club came from the mind of Houston Texas developers Johnson and Loggins. The town name came from the original plan that the Country Club would house the trophy collection of golfing legend Ben Hogan who designed his only course at this very place. Trophy Club incorporated on January 19,1985.

Since then, Trophy Club has become the growth corridor of Northeast Tarrant County and Southern Denton County.
