If you are looking for a particular color in medical scrubs then the best place to find the color of your choice is on the internet. Around the early 20th century, most of the medical staff including doctors and nurses wore a buttoned white garb that gave the medical profession an extremely serious face. This is not all; the traditional white dress was not made from any hygienic material unlike the medical scrubs of today. This was due to the fact that most of the medical practitioners did not have enough information or knowledge regarding the spreading of diseases through germs.

During that time, most scientists and doctors believed that germs spread spontaneously and were born out of nothing. Hence, very little or no consideration was shown towards basic sanitation and this led to a considerable increase in the mortality rate. Those were the times when surgeons wore a single butcher's apron over multiple surgeries. The result was that the apron became soiled with blood, and body fluids. A dirty apron sent out a positive and showed the surgeon to be the prominent and busy doctors in the entire hospital.

Things have changed now and today there are no stylish aprons but trendy drawstring pants with colorful pull over or mandarin collar tops. The traditional front or back buttoned nursing scrubs have been replaced by colorful tops minus the buttons. These scrubs are not only fresh to look at but they are comfortable and hygienic. Some of the medical scrubs even have cartoon characters and floral designs and these medical uniforms are normally worn by medical practitioners who working in the pediatric and childcare departments.

The other factor that led to the fade out of the white colored medical uniforms was that they created strain in the eyes under bright lighting.
